TSMC Statement Regarding Recent Taiwan Earthquake

Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 14, 2001 --Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (TSMC) today (14) stated that the company’s buildings, HVAC systems, water distribution and power distribution systems successfully withstood the effects of the earthquake that shook Taiwan area at 10:35 on Thursday morning. TSMC has finished a comprehensive facility and equipment check-out on its fabs. All the operation is reported to be normal.
